Thermal and Acoustical Insulation

Microlite®

Microlite is a lightweight blanket-type thermal and acoustical insulation made of extremely fine, flame-attenuated glass fibers. It is used in a variety of appliances, equipment, and office furniture applications which require high thermal and acoustical efficiency in a minimal space. Lightweight and resistance to vibration and shakedown. It is also not affected by fungi, vermin, oil, grease, and most acids.

Whispertone® Wallboard and Tackboard

These fiber glass boards provide excellent rigidity and tackability as well as a consistently smooth surface and uniform color. It is available plain or with fiber glass mat facers on one or both surfaces. The uniform color allows office furniture and panel manufacturers to use light colored fabrics with no show-through.

Range Spin-Glas®

Range Spin-Glas is a lightweight fiber glass blanket designed to provide thermal insulating efficiency in standard ranges, self-cleaning ranges, and commercial ovens. It emits minimal smoke and odor during initial cleaning cycle in self-cleaning ranges and has application in any household or commercial oven operating at hot face temperatures up to 1000 degrees F.

Spin-Glas® Board

Spin-Glass Board Equipment Insulation is manufactured from fine, rotary-process glass fibers bonded with a special thermosetting resin. It can be used for office partitions, foam dams for refrigerators and freezers, and miscellaneous OEM applications. Because the glass fibers in Spin-Glass Board are extremely fine, they create an enormous number of minute air spaces, making the insulation highly resistant to the passage of heat and sound.

Tuf-Skin®

Tuf-Skin was specifically developed for air conditioning and heating equipment where sound control, fire safty, and resistance to air erosion are also required. Tuf-Skin is recommended for operating temperatures up to 250F

Tuf-Skin® II

Developed to provide a cost effective alternative to Tuf-Skin, Tufskin II provides slightly lower thermal performance. However the acoustical performance of Tuf-Skin II is equal to Tuf-Skin except in the 1-inch thickness where its performance is slightly reduced.

Exact-O-Board®

These rugged fiber glass boards are used in room air conditioning units and other air handling equipment applications where space is limited. Exact-O-Board provides resistance to relatively high air velocity with effective thermal and acoustical performance in a minimum amount of space. The boards are formed to close thickness tolerances with smooth, uniform surfaces.

SG Series Spin-Glas®

This insulation was specifically developed for freezers, refrigerators and other low and medium temperature appliances operating up to 350 degrees F. SG Series Spin Glass range of density and thickness permits the optimization of thermal, acoustical and space requirements.

Superwool™

High Tensile Strength - Long Intertwined Fibers Provide High Resistance to Tearing and Abuse (even when wet).

Light-Weight Insulation, Low-Heat Storage, Low Thermal Conductivity, Thermal Shock Resistant.

Contains no Binders, no Furnace Contamination or Loss of Strength after Firing.

Resists Most Chemical Attack. Unaffected by Hydrocarbons or Water. Thermal and Physical Properties Restored on Drying.

Flexible and Resilient. Conforms to any Shape. Ideal for Wrapping.

Superwool 607 Blanket is produced from a calcium-magnesium-silicate raw material. The mat contains no organic binder and is mechanically needled for add strength and surface integrity. It is resistant to thermal shock, highly flexible, easily cut, and available in a large variety of sizes and densities. Applications include expansion joint packing for aluminum carbon bake furnaces, Furnaces linings, stress relieving blankets, and fire protection.

Superwool 607 Board™

Rigid, self-supporting fiber insulation
Available in variety of sizes and thicknesses
1832F (1000C) maximum temperature rating
Synthetic vitreous fiber
Low thermal conductivity and heat storage
Non-wetting to molten aluminum

Superwool 607 board is processed from a slurry consisting of Superwool 607 bulk, fillers, and binders. The Superwool607 bulk raw material is made from a calcium magnesium silicate composition. Each board has cut edges for controlled squareness and trueness. Board up to 36" wide may be ordered with both surfaces machined smooth to a close thickness tolerance. The non-wetting characteristics of the Superwool 607 Board composition make it an excellent alternative for molten aluminum contact. Other applications include hot face furnace linings, backup insulation and trough linings for nonferrous metals.

Superwool Paper™

Low thermal conductivity
Low heat storage
Thin, flexible high-temperature insulation
Easily die-cut to form complex shapes for high-temperature gasketing
Conforms easily to complex shapes

Non-wetting to molten aluminumSuperwool 607 Paper is produced from Superwool 607 bulk and organic binders in unique paper-making process. The Superwool 607 bulk raw material is made from a calcium magnesium silicate composition. Superwool 607 Paper has excellent tensile strengths, high insulating value at high temperatures, and outstanding handling characteristics. It conforms easily to complex shapes and can be die-cut.
